Contact us about this course

This is a nationally recognized program that trains participants to respond to emergencies in remote settings. The 80-hour curriculum includes standards for urban and extended care situations. Special topics include but are not limited to: wound management and infection, realigning fractures and dislocations, improvised splinting techniques, patient monitoring and long term management problems, up-to-date information on all environmental emergencies, plus advice on drug therapies. Emphasis is placed on prevention and decision-making, not the memorization of lists. This course is designed specifically to provide you with the tools to make critical medical and evacuation decisions in remote locations. Half of your time will be spent completing practical skills, case studies and scenarios designed to challenge your decision making abilities. The Heartsaver BLS Adult CPR is included in this course.

The following testimonials are from some of our 2007 participants
  • One of the best, most engaging and entertaining learning environments I've been in for a long time.
  • I expected this training to be something I endured and tolerated in order to receive the certification. Due to the fun instructors and well put together materials and activities, it turned into something I genuinely enjoyed.
  • The biggest highlight of the course for me was the mock rescue because it was the most realistic situation we were put in.
  • This class was fun and exciting. I will remember this experience for the rest of my life.
  • I'd been planning on/hoping to take this course for a long time, but even so it's been a better and more valuable experience than I'd ever expected. I feel confident in my abilities to deal with an emergency.
  • I will recommend this WFR course to others.
  • I feel much more confident in my first aid skills.
  • Zion is gorgeous, hold more WFR courses here!
