We the owners of Zion Rock and Mountain Guides are committed to the safety of the backcountry traveler. When things go wrong there is a group of dedicated folks who rise to the challenge of helping others in need. Search and Rescue teams are comprised of such individuals. Whether you are looking to be a part of, or are already part of a Search and Rescue Team we have courses that can complete your arsenal of skills as a technical rescuer. Dean Woods, Jill Woods, Travis Tomlinson and Bo Beck, all work for Zion National Park's Technical Search and Rescue Program. This instructional team has amassed a significant amount of knowledge and experience in one of the most demanding and technically challenging rescue environments. Zion's unique terrain of sheer vertical cliffs and deeply incised slot canyons has been the perfect place to put the different techniques andapplications of the rope riggers arsenal to the test.

Through dedication, training and experience we have developed a Search and Rescue Training Program that is made up of curriculum based units that encompass the skills, techniques and communication necessary to efficiently affect a rescue in the most demanding of environments.
